Term Limits... We don't need no stinking constitutional admendment.
Politicians are suppose to be the servants of, WE THE PEOPLE, the Sovereign Citizens of the United States.
By extension, Political parties are the servants of their members, WE THE PEOPLE.
Therefore, each political party should unilaterally pass a platform plank that says, NO CANDIDATES FOR ANY OFFICE MORE THAN "X" TERMS.
To prevent political parties from having an excuse of possibly being handicapped shouth the other parties not adopt the resolution, the resolution should contain a trigger clause. That trigger clause should be; "THIS RESOLUTION EFFECTIVE ANYTIME ALL POLITICAL PARTIES THAT GET MORE THAN 15% OF THE VOTE IN THE LAST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION PASS AND ABIDE BY THIS SAME RESOLUTION.
And then either don't nominate ANYONE after they have served "X" terms or write into the credential rules and bylaws that noone can be nominated after they have served "X" terms.
Further, to ensure a return to the concept of Citizen Politicians, except for president, Vice President, Governor and Lieutenant Governor, there must be at least on election cycle break before any candidate can run for another office.
Further, every beauracratic department leader and deputy Department leader, shall be be subject to a term limit of 5 years to be replaced within 12 months of following the election cycle following their reaching 5 years. At least 2 election cycle must lapse before they may hold any other position for the government entity they worked for city, county, state, federal except for the military, CIA and FBI.
So you Tea Partiers that are Republicans and those of you that are Democrats and don't believe the should be a new TEA Party, bring to your next caucuses and conventions proposed resolutions to effect this change.
And should some new TEA Party Political Party be formed, let us agree to incorporate this as one of the planks in our party platform.
And the, WE THE PEOPLE, have to force it. Stop going along to get along. Challenge the bureaucrats. The powers that be are not going to give up without a fight.
Respectfully Yours,

What if we the people think our legislator is doing a good job and we want to re-elect him? Don't term limits deprive us of our fundamental right to vote for the candidate of our choice? Plus, since we instituted term limits in the California legislature, we now have a legislature of amateurs who are accountable to nobody, since they don't have to worry about running for re-election. The place is run by the staff, who are the only ones who know what they are doing, and they get nothing done. The state used to be a model of good government, and now it is a model of ungovernability.
